Island Mouse has headed North to Shetland.
I am moving “hom”. After a few days, then weeks of respite from the city, it is time to move up here for a while and breathe. And slow down. This is my palette – the spring and emerging summer colours of blues, golds and greens.
The simmer dim, that ethereal midnight sun, beckons me often to stand outside and listen to the racket of blackbirds, quaps (curlews), shalders (oyster catchers), tirricks (arctic terns) and bonxies (arctic skuas). All in riotous harmony with the retching, man-made-esque “BLEEEURRGHHH” of Shetland sheep. For now it makes a necessary and welcome change from the less organic sounds of the city.
Welcome ‘hom’ our darling Floortje xxx
