So, Great British Sewing Bee last night! I’m so pleased it’s back.
Who are your favourites? I really like Chinelo, Jenni and Simon.
I loved Chinelo’s nightgown and Jenni’s dungaree/skirt and Simon is just adorable. I think it’s really sweet that he got into sewing because he works in Bradford Industrial Museum! Wounded police officer David seems like an interesting character too, but I didn’t really like anything he made…
I spend quite a lot of office time creeping on sewing blogs. Mmmm therapeutic.
Some of my favourites:
Katy and Laney – That ruffle swing top is to die for and Laney’s cropped and ruffled version of the Victoria blazer that I also made is super cute.
Speaking of which, By Hand London’s website is always worth a look. They made a beautiful silk babydoll that is, arguably, prettier than any of the nighties they made on GBSB last night.
Another indie pattern maker who crops up all the time is Grainline Studio. Since we both love shirts, one day we’ll need to make ourselves Archers because they are great. There is also this travel set which I’ve had my eye on for ages.
Anna (Paunnet) is amazing. She’s Italian, so I’m immediately biased, of course, but on top of that, I love her style and the way she writes.
One last one (although I could go on and on): Tilly and the Buttons – do you remember she was on GBSB last year? Her patterns are lovely and her blog is fab. She just released a pattern for a stripy top – perfect!
I’ll report back on my making progress soon. Hope you’re having a swell week!
