This September I will have lived in Glasgow for ten years. Ten.
That’s longer than I’ve lived anywhere except my parents’ house. That’s all my adult life (minus a few years in France and Italy here and there). That’s long enough for me to feel like I am in some way rooted to this city. It’s familiar to me in a way that no other place is; the streets and the rivers and the people and the weather and the smells and the sounds.
I love the colours. The light.
I’m here because of my work, but there are so many reasons that I’m happy to stay.

Another great thing about this place is that it is easy to get from here to other places. Places with big skies and mountains.
We’re going to the countryside for a few days.
