It’s time to give the lambs we’ve kept from this year their injections…
This box of tricks contains a vaccine for Vinster (or Braxy in Scots) a disease which causes inflammation of the stomach in young sheep when they move from succulent pasture to dry and icy grazing. Dad calls the bit that gets inflamed the “wassim” – a very Shetland word!
My job was Lamb Wrangler and Bum-Spot-Painter. Dad was Chief Surgeon (injections, hoof trimming, vitamins, drenching, being the boss…). Belle was Supreme Woofer.
Ruth!
I think :)))
